Abstract

 

The choice of subjects in business English correspondence plays a vital role of transferring messages and realizing the goals of speakers. The study shows that subject choices of business English correspondence and its pragmatic functions from the perspective of cognitive and pragmatic. As research shows, different subjects can highlight main messages, express subjective attitudes, transform attitude, logo courtesy and cooperation, even avoid disadvantages according to the specific situation. This thesis is aimed at exploring how to choose subjects according to different need in business communication. In this way, messages can be transmitted preferably, the image and profit of business organizations can be maintained effectively and business activities can be promoted. Thus communicative efficiency of business English correspondence can be achieved.
