Abstract:John Michael Green (born August 24, 1977) is an American author, vlogger, writer, producer, actor, editor, and educator. He won the 2006 Printz Award for his debut novel, Looking for Alaska, and his sixth novel, The Fault in Our Stars, debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Seller list in January. In 2014, Green was included in Time magazine's list of The 100 Most Influential People in the World.

This study attempts to combine Wilhelm Dilthey’s Philosophy of Life,Freud's Theory of Psychoanalysis,Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche's Theory of Will to Power to conduct a study on the meaning of life in The Fault in Our Stars written by John Green, to study the life theme. From different perspectives such as their attitudes towards death, different emotional understanding about love or understanding about several living statement. So that they have the deep interpretation of the meaning of life, including material life and spiritual life. I hope that this study will help those who are thrown into jail or have lost themselves in lives, and will give them some guidance and direction, so that we can know more clearly the meaning of our lives.
