Abstract

With China’s economic reform and opening up to the world, especially after China’s entry to the WTO, Chinese companies have been in business increasingly with more countries around the world, in which business negotiations are indispensable. Therefore, interpreters in international business negotiations are supposed to be proficient with both the culture of participants in business negotiations and the professional terms involved in the business. And also, they should be able to apply the translation strategies and skills to oral interpretations for business negotiation flexibly.

Under the instruction of Skopos theory, this thesis mainly makes a study on the effective and feasible oral interpretation skills for international business negotiations by exemplifying and analyzing some mistakes made in international business negotiations, which might be the helpful academic references for interpreters to improve oral interpretation in international business negotiation.
