Abstract: With the development of globalization, more and more foreign movies and television series continually come into China, especially sitcoms. This study aims to investigate the translation of humor in the subtitles of the Big Bang Theory and the translation strategies including literal translation, literal translation plus annotation, domestication and foreignization. First of all, there is a literature review in which the definition and classification of humor and the sitcom entitled The Big Bang Theory are introduced. In the second section, the author analyzes the translation strategies of different humor and factors influencing the translation of humor in the sitcom. Finally, there is a conclusion in which the author points out why the specific strategies are used in different humor and why some factors are considered important in translation of humor.
