 Abstract: With the frequent communication between different countries, intercultural communication is drawing more and more attention. And English is the most popular foreign language learned by many Chinese students. Therefore, how to cultivate intercultural communication competence in English language teaching is an important subject for educators. English teaching in junior middle school is an important period and oral English teaching is a necessary approach for students to learn English. Thus, how to cultivate intercultural communication competence is a subject that deserves a deep research, and English educators and learners should attach more importance to it. However, most middle school students’ communication competence in oral English which is influenced by many factors is very limited and they are not good command of oral English. Therefore, cultivating students’ cross-cultural communication competence is a primary and difficult task. After reading and analyzing a lot of related materials, I summarized the current situation, fond problems that middle school students met when they cultivate their intercultural communication competence in oral English class, and put forward some solutions, hoping to inspire or help English learners and educators.
