Abstract:The comparative study of classical Chinese poetry and Western poetry has always been praised by many scholars, especially from the image perspective. And Li Qingzhao and Emily Dickinson are the two outstanding female poets in the area of poetry. Though they lived in different countries with different social systems, with unique insights and imagination, they created lots of images in their poems. This paper, based on the theory of imagism, attempts to analyze similar characters in Emily Dickinson’s and Li Qingzhao’s poems and different usage of images in their works so as to reflect the two poets’ inner world and deepen the common understanding of their poems.  .
