Abstract

 

This dissertation is based on the studies of opportunities of pupils’ oral production in English learning classrooms in primary school and on the study harvest of lots of current motivation theory. It analyses the phenomena that our primary school students are not willing to speak English in class and the reasons and effect of this problem from linguistics, physiology, psychics, sociology and pedagogy. It unmasks the deficiency and shortage of teaching oral English in our primary school. Oral English teaching is the keystone of primary school English teaching and is the difficulty that teachers should work hard on. Our students are often afraid of speaking English in some degrees and are shy to speak. Therefore, during the teaching procedure, English teachers need to stimulate the interests and initiative of speaking English by various vivid and funny teaching means.
