Abstract:For the past several decades, English as a language has undergone a great many changes because of plentiful reasons, from domestic environment to international environment, from the progress of society to the advance of language itself. With the development of technology and culture as well as demand of international communication in the recent years, neologism has emerged and been regarded as an inseparable part in language. Obviously, neologism plays a significant role in our society. 

Thereby, this thesis will make an analysis on English neologisms such as appellation neologisms, and neologisms related with technology, economy, politics, net, entertainment, etc. The thesis will also elaborate on translation of neologisms and the cultural factors affecting the translation of English neologisms in different regions of China, including Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong. This thesis will give a detailed introduction to English neologisms and the respective translation of English neologisms in different regions of China due to the distinctive cultural factors. Meanwhile, through making contrast and comparison on translation of English neologisms in Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, the thesis is to notify readers that cultural factors have an effect on the translation of English neologisms.
