With the progress of globalization and the implementation of the policy of reform and opening up, China has witnessed considerably great changes. Political neologisms with Chinese characteristics emerge to satisfy the need to portray these new things and phenomena in the field of politics.

Neologisms not only give expression to the latest social changes but also enrich languages and cultures. The appropriate translation of Chinese political neologisms can serve as the guidance for foreigners to understand socialist characteristics and our policies. Thus a systematic study of the translation of Chinese political neologisms helps to facilitate mutual exchange of China and Western countries, reinforcing mutual relationship and eliminating mistakes in the process of translating.
