Abstract: Vocabulary learning is the first problem for the majority of the students in the English learning process. Vocabulary is one of the most important components in learning English, and it runs through the whole process of English learning. Vocabulary learning is closely related to the vocabulary learning strategies. This thesis is carried out in the form of doing a questionnaire among 80 college students. The collected data is analyzed in the computer by using the Excel software. The result is that most of the students still prefer to learn vocabulary through the traditional way like rehearsing and looking up dictionary. In additional, most of the students have known how to make use of cognitive strategies to learn vocabulary. However, those students seldom use meta-cognitive strategies and social strategies. It is hoped that this research will provide some effective strategies for college students and improve the efficiency of English vocabulary learning.

摘要:词汇学习是学习者在学习英语时首先要面对的难题。词汇学习策略对英语学习来说非常重要,并且贯穿于英语学习的全过程,词汇学习与词汇学习策略密切相关。本文在国内外关于词汇学习策略的理论基础上,通过问卷调查的形式对80名大学生英语词汇学习策略使用情况进行调查研究,问卷数据由Excel软件进行处理。调查发现大多数仍然倾向于使用像死记硬背和查字典这样的传统词汇学习策略,此外,很多学生都已经能够运用认知策略进行词汇学习但却忽略了元认知策略和社会情感策略的使用。旨在帮助学习者获得行之有效的学习策略,从而提高英语词汇学习的效率。
