Two Broke Girls is a popular and successful sitcom with humorous and interesting utterances which are realized by flouting CP. But for most audiences, lacking knowledge about Cooperative Principle, they tend to think speaker is out of his mind when too much or irrelevant information is given; they may not able to judge when speaker says something false or untrue; they may fail to catch the meaning when speaker expresses vaguely and ambiguously. Through the analysis, the author has analyzed implied meaning behind the dialogues in Two Broke Girls from the perspective of violating CP, thus helps audience appreciate those humorous utterances from a deeper perspective, and assists them to better understand speakers’ true communicative intent and to grasp accurately what has caused humor. Besides, it is also helpful for language learners to master the techniques of creating humor.
However, this paper is not so perfect in some aspects. For one thing, Two Broke Girls runs two seasons and now is composed of 45 episodes. As a result of time limitation, it is impossible to carefully analyze every conversation in the sitcom. For another thing, even though the eight humorous conversations are chosen according to the background laughter, but it does not mean the paper is absolutely objective since the analysis involves the author’s personal judgment.

经典美剧《破产姐妹》因其幽默风趣的话语，赢得了大众的喜爱。因此，本文尝试以合作原则为理论指导，对其中的经典幽默话语进行研究分析，旨在探索其违反了合作原则中的哪一条准则，取得了何种幽默效果以及违反合作原则的原因，使观众能更好地理解该剧中的幽默，并帮助语言学习者掌握运用英语创造幽默的技巧。
